The
Leather District an eight square block area of Boston
that is bounded by Midtown, the Financial District, South
Station, and Chainatown (the city regards Chinatown
and the Leather District as one).
If you work in the
Financial District, or Tufts New England Medical, this is a
very convenient location. Just seconds from I-93, the Pike,
South Station T and commuter rail, all buses, easy access to
Logan Airport.
The Leather District,
features century-old factory, wholesale, and warehouse
buildings some of which have been converted into stylish new
residential lofts. The name of the district, by
the way, derives from the area's former predominant trade,
leather tanning.
