South Boston's residents are
famous for their love of and loyalty to their neighborhood.
And it's no wonder. Southie boasts miles of beaches and
waterfront parks that culminate at Castle Island.
There, visitors can enjoy a Revolutionary War era fort, get
a bite to eat at Sullivan's, play at the playground, fish
off the pier, or simply take a stroll.
Southie is densely populated.
. It's known for three deckers and row house.
There are lots of single family homes in the neighborhood
too.
Lately, there's been a large amount of renovation
activity in the area, bringing in a crowd of downtown office
workers. The west side has seen some beautiful new larger
scale loft style developments, bringing in lots of new
occupants as well as the restaurants, retail, and other
amenities that cater to them.
