The 1597 Washington Street condominium project located in Boston's South End is a residential and retail development with 39 beautifully appointed luxury condominiums, 19 elegant period style townhouses, and 119 underground parking spaces. This $30 million dollar project, developed by Schochet Associates in 1998 was the lynchpin of the highly successful revitalization of the entire Washington Street corridor, a key initiative of the administration of Mayor Thomas M. Menino.
