Newton MA is one of the beautiful inner suburbs of Boston. Catch a first-run film or a classic at the West Newton Cinema. Do some hiking at the Webster Conservation Area or the Hammond Pond Reservation. Do some upscale shopping at the Shops at Chestnut Hill. Enjoy a day on the water by renting a small boat from Charles River Canoe and Kayak. If it’s time for dinner and drinks, check out Olivia’s Bistro in West Newton for excellent Italian, Sycamore in Newton Center for New American cuisine, or the fabulous Sushico. Or if you’re looking for steak, you can go to the stalwart Capital Grille at Chestnut Hill Square.

Newton MA is bordered by the towns of Wellesley and Weston on the west. Brookline and Boston’s Brighton neighborhood (including Boston College) are to its east. On the north there are the towns of Watertown and Waltham. On the south, you will find Needham as well as Boston’s West Roxbury. See map.
Newton is served by the Framingham/Worcester branch of the Commuter rail at Nortonville, West Newton, and Auburndale stations For subway, the Green line D at Newton Centre, Newton Highlands, Eliot, Waban, Woodland, and Riverside stations. There is also an express bus into Boston from Newton Corner. The Mass Pike, Nonantum/Soldiers Field Road, route 9/Boylston Street, and Commonwealth Avenues are good driving options.
