Boston Redevelopment: A New Park in an Unexpected Locale

South End Boston redevelopmentA plan to revitalize a blighted areaof Boston's South End is in the works bythe same folks who brought the Ink Block to the neighborhood.According to aBoston Herald article, National Development is planning a multi-purpose park witha range of amenities forunder the elevated section of Interstate 93 that passes between theSouth End and South Boston.Amid a swarm of residential development in the South End, the site has remained largely neglected until now.National Development recently signed a five-year lease of the parcel, on which it plansto create a boardwalk, basketball court, performance space, dog park, cultural event space, and pedestrian and bike paths.Ted Tye, managing partner with National Development, plans to bring oneof the firm's nearby projects into play:

Well be dual-branding with Ink Block and trying to bring the energy of Ink Block to this new urban park, Tye said.
