The 10 unbuilt blocks of Seaport Square are about to undergo a newly sweetened vote by the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA), according to a Boston Globe report. The developer, WS Development, has recently pledged a $7.5 million endowment to operate the project's theaters and another $3 million toward rebuilding the Northern Avenue Bridge and upkeep for Fort Point Channel's Martin's Park.In addition, WS Development has committed to investing in improving streets and public transportation in the area.
Seaport Square is an extraordinary project that will transform the entire South Boston Waterfront, said WS senior vice president Yanni Tsipis. With this great opportunity comes a responsibility to make major investments in the performing arts, public infrastructure, and parks.

A proposal for a 65-condo building was approved for South Boston this month by the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA). The project at 87-93 Broadway would include a landscaped green roof and ground floor retail within its 98,000 square feet of space.A commitment of $50,000 from the developer, Broadway & A St. LLC, will go toward community benefits, while an additional $25,000 commitment will help fund a new Hubway Station near the site.The mix of planned condos calls for 55 2-bedroom units and ten 1-bedroom units. Penthouse units will have private roof decks. Earlier today, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced plans for a new green space along Boston's waterfront in strategic partnership with the Trustees of the Reservations. The space, according to a Boston Globe article, would link Fort Point, Chinatown, and South Boston, as well as some islands, marshes and footbridges.The Trustees of the Reservations have 126 years of land management under their belts.Walsh spoke about the plan at today's Boston Chamber of Commerce meeting, saying:

The Charlestown Navy Yard waterfront has recently been the subject of some imaginative development ideas, according to the Boston Herald.Ideas ranging from an outdoor theater, a climbing wall, floating plant installations, an outdoor gym, a maritime research center, and more have been suggested as ways to activate the waterfront.Suggestions camefrom a local installation artist, BOS Urban Architecture, Boston Harbor Now, Context LLC, DC Beane and Associates Construction, the Navy Yard Community Association, and Sea Boston. Context LLC's proposal included condos and a light tower onPier 5.The Charlestown Marina had some thoughts on the matter, too:
