Boston Real Estate: Lucas Luxury Condos are Under Construction

The Lucas Boston#BostonCondos #BostonRealEstateWhen New Boston Ventures released renderings of its plan to redevelopthe former Holy Trinity German Catholic Church and rectory early last year, the dramatic architectural design was surprising to many. Built with Roxbury puddingstone and Maine granite, the neo-Gothic structure had been in Boston's South End for 138 years. It was about to get topped off with an eight story glass and steel addition.Toavoid tearing the church building down, design firmFinegold Alexander + Associates' plan was to build on top of it, retaining the entire structure including the bell tower. The plans called for adding a modern glass top andcreating 33 luxury condos.Located at 136 Shawmut Avenue in the South End, this residential buildingis one of many residential projects either new to the lower South End or under construction. The homes at The Lucas will range from one to threebedrooms, with finishes such as floor to ceiling windows with Back Bay and Downtown views, gas fireplaces, high ceilings, custom kitchens, and private decks.A fitness area, common courtyard, lounge, and pet spa are amongthe amenities. Some units will have direct elevator access, and there will also be an underground parking garage. The Lucas is scheduled to be completed inthe spring of 2017.If you can'twait until then, there's a large selection ofluxury condo buildings in Boston, ranging from smaller boutique-style buildings to high-rises.Ifyou are lookingtobuya condo or home inBoston, you'll find my overview ofBoston real estate byneighborhoodhelpful. As always, I'm ready to help with anyquestions you may have about buying or selling Boston condos or homes.
